SCS students, Caoimhe and Katie represented "Munster Schools ", at the Athletics Interprovincial u17 Tailteann Games, at Tullamore last Saturday.
Both girls won bronze medals ;Caoimhe was 3rd in the 1500m Steeplechase and Katie was 3rd in the Javelin and 4th in the Discus.The Munster Girls' team finished a very close 2nd overall to Leinster ,who were awarded the Tailteann cup,with Ulster 3rd and Connacht 4th.
Both Katie and Caoimhe are eligible for the Intermediate (u17) grade again next year.

On Friday 20th of May, nineteen students took part in a one hour cycle skills training with Cycle Sense. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Cycle Sense accompanied the students and Ms. Orla O’Sullivan, Mr. Patrick Harrington, Ms. Martina McCarthy, Mr. Chris O’Brien, Tomás O’Donnabháin and Sean O’Driscoll to Tragumna and back to SCS.
The school is very thankful to Liss Ard Estate for opening all of their gates to ensure the safety of the cyclists. Everyone was delighted with Liss Ard Estate and Tragumna Beach. There can be no doubt about it that we live in a wonderful area.
Every effort has been made to promote cycling, cycling to school and cycle safety. This intitiatve was made possible by The Green School’s Committee, Cork Bike Week, Cork Sports Partnership, BAM, Liss Ard and Cycle Sense.
SCS was delighted to take part in Cork Bike Week.
On Tuesday 17th May, the Green School’s Committee, second year students, Ms. Orla O’Sullivan and the Green School Liaison Co-ordinator Ms. Catherine Russell watched ‘Together We Cycle and She Cycles’ and various other films promoting cycling.
Catherine Russell provided refreshments. Every effort was made to promote cycling, to encourage cycling to school and to encourage more females into cycling. A great time was had by all!

On Thursday, Ms. Wilson and the TY mentors organised a school trip for first year pupils to the Lagoon Activity Centre in Rosscarbery, followed by a visit to the beach.
The sun shone all day and it was a wonderful day of activities and sports for the students- topped off with some delicious pizza!
Many thanks to the accompanying teachers/staff who ensured the day ran smoothly.
Good luck to our BT young scientist finalists Mark Keating and Ava Minihane who are invited to present their project titled ‘Eyes Vs Ears; Testing Visual Reactions Vs Aural Reactions in Teenagers’ to the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Limerick on Thursday 19th May 2022.
The students will have an opportunity to share their project with experts in the fields of sport, sport science, physical activity, physical education, and health.
