We were delighted to take part in Bike Week today.
The Tour de Trag was a massive success!
A huge convoy comprising of first years, school staff, Cycle Sense and An Garda Síochána travelled from Skibbereen Community School to Tragumna Beach via Liss Ard and back. Some locals were on hand to support.
It wouldn’t have happened without our super cyclists and the help we received along the way. Thanks so much to Skibbereen Sergeant John McCarthy and Garda Gearóid Whelton for supervising our journey. Thanks to Max and Ruth from Cycle Sense for their leadership. Thanks to LissArd for giving us permission to go through and to Vinny for greeting us. Thanks to our 4th years for their help: Evan O’Sullivan, Edwin Viji, John O’Regan, Amy McCarthy, Ella Murphy and Tara Mann. Thanks to Tony O’Sullivan and the Bam team for their continued support. Thanks to Catherine Burns, Martina Tobin and Órla O’Sullivan for accompanying.
Thanks to Ms. Sarah McCarthy 1st year head, Ms. Gretta Burchill, Mr. Conor Uhl, Mr. Tom Foley, Mr. Diarmuid O’Donnabháin and Mr. Anton O’Mahony for their continued support. We also wish to acknowledge all the families and primary schools for their hard work in promoting cycling to date.
This is an initiative people deeply care about. We finished on a high with ice cream to replenish the bodies.
Tour de Trag today, Tour de France tomorrow!
