Skibbereen Community School was delighted to host a wonderful game this morning called “Give Yourself A Chance”. The purpose of the game is to help our students understand the importance of good attendance and even more importantly highlighting the consequences of poor attendance. Health, safety and well-being are the most important thing. We are all different and have huge potential to do well. There are four key factors to support healthy living: sleep, exercise, routine and having good healthy food. If these areas are going well, life goes well. Students were asked if they could be part of the 80% who make it through to “Give Yourself a Chance”. They were asked not to be part of 20% who miss more than 20 days of school. Our SCP coordinator Roger Earl designed and hosted the event in conjunction with SCP  and SPHE. Thanks to Roger for his expertise and to Catherine Burns from SCP and our attendance officer Ms. Orla O Sullivan for assisting.
