Skibbereen Community School bid a sad farewell to the Leaving cert Class of 2025 at their Leaving Cert Graduation Ceremony last Wednesday. Over 750 parents, friends and staff were in attendance to see them graduate. Fr. John Heinhold and Rev. John Ardis officiated at the ceremony.

Mr. O Mahony, Principal, Ms. Burchill, Year Head and Student Rep, Will O Donovan, delivered outstanding speeches that beautifully captured the spirit of this year group—their compassion, resilience, humanity, and the genuine kindness they showed one another, in face of the hardships they endured over their six years. They truly are a remarkable group of young people.

The School Community would like to wish everyone of them the very best of luck in their upcomimg exams and in their future endeavours. The School Community would like to thank all their Teachers, SNA’s , Admin and Auxiliary Staff who journeyed with them. Thanks also to the Parents/Guardians, local Sports Clubs, Organisations and Businesses who supported the school over the time.

Mr. O Mahony mentioned and quoted the famous scientist, Ms. Marie Curie in his speech. “ We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained." "Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood."
