This week 1C and 1D enjoyed a day trip to Scala for their first-year retreat.
The focus was on friendships and having some time to reflect.

Well done to students from Skibbereen Community School who recently took part in the Credit Union Calendar Competition.
Pictures had to be submitted for the 2024 Calendar and the students below were all successful in having a picture included in the Access Credit Union 2024 Calendar. They also received a €50 voucher each, so well done to all.

Second Years and LRC students enjoyed a wonderful trip to the cinema with their tutors and SNAs on Tuesday 19th December. They watched ‘Wonka’ in Bantry. An enjoyable day was had by all.
Well done to Katie Kingston in TY on recently winning a Paudie Palmer Junior Sports Star Award for her amazing sporting achievements to date.
Katie has won five All Ireland's (one of which is school related), excelling in the Javelin event and has also successfully won a bursary and secured a place on the International Youth Exchange for Summer 2024 through the Skibbereen Lions Club Young Ambassador Award Programme.
A lovely evening was had by all in The Celtic Ross Hotel on Monday 18th of December at the Quarterly West Cork Sports Star Awards. There was great support on the evening from her very proud family, many relatives, her coach, SCS school pals and also her teachers Ms. Ní Charthaigh and Ms. Belton DP.

This is a kindness initiative run by volunteers that connect residents in a nursing or care home with a kind volunteer who would like to send them a little gift for Christmas.
Each student wrote a personalised letter and sent a gift to the resident that they were matched with.
It is great to see the students spreading some Christmas cheer!
3rd Year students recently attended a seminar on Study Skills and the importance of putting a plan in place and being organised over the coming months.
