A massive thank you to Ahmed Dede and Maria from the highly decorated Baltimore Custom House restaurant for coming into our TY cookery and food & hospitality module students today.
A fantastic talk on how Ahmed always worked harder than everyone and always had perfection as his only goal, to make his dreams a reality.
When the professional footballer career didn’t work out he put his passion for food to the fore and set himself the ambitious target to earn the highly coveted Michelin star.
Having now earned his second Michelin star, he and Maria continue to work tirelessly on fine tuning their high performance team to achieve the third.
Such an inspiring talk all about working hard and never letting anyone tell you, you can’t achieve. We look forward to welcoming Ahmed back for a master class in the future.
A big thank you to the Home Economics teachers for facilitating.
Our second ‘Tour de Trag’ was a massive success on Friday.
30 second years cycled to Trag via lissard with Cycle Sense as part of Cork Bike Week. They also attended a cycling skills workshop.
Our school is heavily invested in the promotion of safe cycling with plans for the future development of it next year.
Thanks to Ms. Órla O’Sullivan and Mr. Chris O’Brien for accompanying them and to our 4th Years, Donal O’Callaghan, Daniel Cleary, William O’Donovan, Aidan Fahy and Sean Connolly who were superb stewards. Tour de France watch out as we are on our way!
Photos of our 4th Year students in Malaga.
A group of 5th years headed to the beautiful Gougane Barra today.
They had a fantastic day taking in the breath taking scenery and had some well earned downtime enjoying some self reflection and team bonding.
Many thanks to the accompanying staff and to the students for their great behaviour.
An enjoyable day all round!
Pictured here are second years looking at the wildflower seeds on sale in memory of Maya Grace Harnedy who sadly passed away recently. Maya Grace loved looking at colourful wild flowers and in particular she enjoyed spending time in colourful gardens that were full bloom.
They are also raising funds for CDKL5 and the Little Haven Playschool where she attended. It is hoped that people will purchase these flowers and plant them in different places.
