Friday's For Future in SCS.

TY Student Saoi O Connor gave an excellent speech to her schoolmates today about “Friday’s for Future”, the worldwide student protest movement on Climate Change. This movement began in Sweden 29 weeks ago when Swedish student, Gretta Thunberg walked out of her school to protest at the lack of action by government’s worldwide to this world wide disaster. Saoi herself has protested outside City Hall in Cork City for the last 9 Friday’s. She and others like her have addressed the Dail and are in the media recently. They want the Irish Government to keep its emissions promises that it made at the Paris Accord.

The School Community is very proud of Saoi’s endeavours and support her in demanding that our government and others tackle Climate Destruction. The School will be part of next week’s mass walkout involving students from over 60 countries.
