The 2026 Irish Maths Teachers Association First Year Competition took place in Skibbereen Community School in January, where all the first-year students took on 15 problem solving questions over 40mins.
The competition had 18,500 entries across Ireland.
One of our students, Naomi, received an IMTA medal for her performance. She was one of 263 students across the country to achieve over 95% in the competition. Well done, Naomi!
During the first-year assembly this week Mr O Mahony presented Naomi with her medal and also presented 11 other students with certificates of achievement for their excellent performance.
