Despite the poor weather conditions on the day, the ten SCS athletes performed superbly at An Ríocht AC track ,Castleisland on Saturday last.
They returned with 2 Munster titles, 6 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and a Personal Best.
Senior Girls:
1st Caoimhe Flannery (1500m S/C).
1st Katie Kingston (Javelin).
2nd Ciara Delaney (800m).
2nd Elaine O 'Sullivan (Javelin).
4th Diana Coakley PB.
(Hammer).
Intermediate Girls:
2nd Lorraine Coakley (Javelin).
3rd Laura Coakley (Discus).
Intermediate Boys;
2nd Sam Kingston(Javelin).
3rd Evan O'Sullivan (Javelin).
Minor Boys:
Sé O'Brien 2nd 100m, 2nd 75m Hurdles.
Congratulations to Caoimhe, Katie, Ciara, Elaine and Diana whose combined performances on the day, earned SCS joint winners of the Overall Senior Girls' Category Award!
A special mention to Diana Coakley who competed in her last Schools' Competition. Diana, who recently won the South Munster Hammer title, lost out by just 1cm for 3rd place and qualification for the All Ireland Schools' Track and Field finals in Tullamore on May 29th/30th.
