Thank you to Rory who welcomed the 5th year LCVP class to Clonakilty Black Pudding yesterday.
Clonakilty Black Pudding dates back to the 1880s in West Cork where the black pudding was first made by Johanna O’Brien, a farmer’s wife from Sam’s Cross using a secret recipe. The recipe remains a secret today but has been passed down through the generations. Colette Twomey, Managing Director is the only person who knows the recipe currently.
Clonakilty Black pudding is a family-business, passionate about producing great tasting products such as sausages, rashers, black pudding, white pudding, bacon joints and veggie pudding . We observed the factory floor from the viewing gallery as Rory talked us through the production process while answering any questions we had.
The visit concluded with a complimentary tasting of their delicious products.
