The school wish to thank our Boston friends for coming to visit Skibbereen Community School. We wish them the very best and look forward to seeing them again in the future.
Thank you to Mr. Ryan Beatty, Ms. Kellie Bell and Ms. Jenn Wade Baker for accompanying the students and for their wonderful company and professionalism.
This exchange had been a huge success and we wish to thank all our host families for accommodating our American students. The trip was a massive success and only made possible by a community effort both here in Skibbereen and in Boston.
We are very grateful to Ms. Kate Ciulla our link teacher in Scituate Boston, and to Ms. Brenda O’Connor and her team for their help.
We wish to acknowledge the wonderful hospitality we received each day from everyone who supported the school. Thank you to Kate Jacob from Jacobs, Baltimore for her hospitality on Monday night. On Tuesday we wish to thank Pa and Ger Carey for their hospitality in the Horse and Hound. On Wednesday we wish to sincerely thank our retired colleague Mr. Mick Murphy for organising kayaking in lough Hyne. On Thursday we wish to acknowledge the wonderful hospitality we received in the Whale’s Tail in Clonakilty and De Barra’s. On Friday evening we wish to thank Christine and her team in the Church Restaurant in Skibbereen. On Friday night we also wish to acknowledge Paula McCarthy and Lizzie Henwood Broderick for their hospitality in The Skibbereen Eagle.
We are so grateful to Mr. Damien Long and his wonderful team as well as Bam for their constant professionalism. Finally we sincerely appreciate the effort that all the staff members involved made throughout the week in organising the exchange this year. We are already looking forward to the next one.
