As part of the Leaving Certificate syllabus student must conduct a study of a named ecosystem. Six parts of the student investigations on the syllabus are included in this study for e.g. to model the size of a habitat using primary data, to investigate quantitatively the effect of light intensity on the distribution and abundance of a named organism. To facilitate this, a trip to Fota Wildlife would be a worthwhile educational experience. 

‍The trip will take place on Friday the 25th of September 2026. The bus will leave Skibbereen Community School at 7:45am sharp and will return at 5:00pm approximately.

The cost of the trip is €35 which must be paid in advance of the trip (payment by 22/09/26).

Since this is a school trip, all students are required to abide by the school's Code of Behaviour. Students are required to wear suitable warm clothes, as they will be working outdoors. A packed lunch will be needed for small and big break during the day.

It is important that any medical conditions are included in the Digital form below and students should have any necessary medication with them on the trip.
